Suffer in Silence (Malvagio Mafia Duet Book 1) by Kelsey Clayton ~ Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Holy sh*t. Clayton shattered any expectations I had for Suffer in Silence, book 1 in her brand new Malvagio world; it’s darker, more twisted, and utterly f*cking addictive.

Mafia is my all-time favorite trope, and Clayton absolutely KILLED it!

Saxon is a pre-med college student with an old soul who would rather be at home curled up with a book than out living the high life in the VIP section of the hottest club. She’s fiery and inquisitive, which leads her straight into the arms of a vengeful mob boss.

Kage commands attention with his presence; he’s self-assured and expects loyalty from those around him, and he doesn’t hesitate to pull the trigger. He’s my favorite kind of book boyfriend: ruthless and in control until they meet the woman who will bring them to their knees.

A single incident, a touch, serves as an ignition; a switch is flipped, sparking Kage and Saxon’s connection. The beginning is unexpected, but there’s no stopping it; an inferno on the verge of consuming the world around them. Passion and fear, combined with rage and tranquillity, battle inside each of them with such intensity that you feel every bit of it.

My heart has yet to return to a regular rhythm, a few pages, and I was completely consumed by this world.

Suffer in Silence is a top 2022 read and my new favorite Clayton novel. A riveting combination of fervent chemistry, a possessive anti-hero, a fiery heroine, a dash of witty banter, spine-tingling twists, mind-blowing turns, and fervent steam, all wrapped up in an exquisitely dark, addicting world that I need more of.

Make sure you cancel real life; you will be routed to one spot until you’ve inhaled every word.

Blurb:

Monsters don’t hide in dark alleys.
They lurk in plain sight, clawing into your soul with cordial smiles.
They wear Armani, they drive Cadillacs, they attend fundraising balls…
And they rule the city with a merciless fist.

The Familia is a mystery to most,
and sitting on its throne is Kage Malvagio.

Vile.
Sadistic.
Painstakingly beautiful.

Some say: Ask for forgiveness, never permission.
Kage asks for neither.
Especially when he gets his hands on me.

I should hate him.
I should run at the first chance I get.
But how could the devil be so bad when he looks at me like that?
