Blogger Spotlight: Jill Sava (Love Affair With Fiction)

Anyone that’s a part of the book world has most likely heard of Jill Sava, she’s a force of her own in the book community. She’s a blogger (A Love Affair With Fiction, since March of 2014), promotor, she does design and format. The creator of a group for people in the book world with chronic illness that has come to mean the world to me She’s a PA to 4 authors. She does it all, she does it well and she does it while being chronically ill.

I have been on the ARC team of one of the authors she is a PA for since early 2017 so I had only had brief conversations with her during that time. In February of 2019 she created a Facebook group for people in the book community that were also battling chronic illness. That’s when I started to find out more about her, not her illness but her as a person. I don’t think I have ever known a more genuine, kind human being.

She didn’t just create a group for the sake of it. She checks in with everyone, reads every post and does what she can to comfort or offer support to the person on the other side of the computer screen. The love, support and compassion that Jill shows to every single person in, not only that group but everywhere is something you don’t see a lot of in this world which puts her in a class above all.

When I decided I wanted to start a page/blog she encouraged me to do it. When I sent her messages with questions she was always helped, even if it was just to stop me from freaking out. It doesn’t matter how insanely busy she was, she always took time for me and that will be something I will forever treasure because I couldn’t have done it without her encouragement and support.

I have had the idea floating around in my head for the past few weeks about how and when to do this new Blogger Spotlight post. Today I was reminded that February 29, 2020 is World Rare Disease Awareness Day and that would be the perfect opportunity to gush over the woman who is not only my Blog Guru but also fighting a rare disease. I admire her, she is the true definition of a Warrior. The disease she has was mentioned in Covet by Rachel Van Dyken, I highly recommend reading it. I will post a link to a site that you can look at information on Gastroparesis because I too am stuck with a rare disease and spreading awareness is important.

Thank you, Jill. For all you do in the book community, for being you, for showing us all that you care. I appreciate you and I respect you beyond measure.
