SYNOPSIS
Broken.
Damaged.
Fractured into a thousand tiny pieces.
I’d promised to make it all better.
To heal the blows she’d been dealt.
But she wasn’t the only one living in a nightmare.
I’d tried to forget about my past as a marine, but it echoed in the edges of my mind, chipping away at my sanity.
The violent memories haunted me.
But now so did she.
I’d let my anger take over.
I thought I’d gone too far and destroyed everything.
But she was still there.
Waiting for me.
Waiting for us.
Our pain threatened to eradicate everything around us.
A roaring flame no one could extinguish.
But it was nothing compared to the fire in our souls.
The deepest love always burned the hottest.
And ours was set to ignite an inferno.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Abigail Davies grew up with a passion for words, storytelling, maths, and anything pink. Dreaming up characters–quite literally–and talking to them out loud is a daily occurrence for her. She finds it fascinating how a whole world can be built with words alone, and how everyone reads and interprets a story differently. Now following her dreams of writing, Abigail has found the passion that she always knew was there. When she’s not writing: she’s a mother to two daughters who she encourages to use their imagination as she believes that it’s a magical thing, or getting lost in a good book. If she’s doing neither of those things, you can be sure she’s surfing the web buying new makeup, clothes, or binge watching another show as she becomes one with her sofa.

I have read many books and have read through to the end of many series that I loved yet I have never been less ready to say goodbye to a series than I am the Easton family. Asher and Elodie became my new favorite Easton family couple while I read the pages of this book. I don’t even know the exact moment it happened; I think it was a build up to that conclusion.
The way these 2 connected more emotionally throughout this book brought their chemistry from embers of a fire in book 1 to a scorching inferno in this conclusion of their story. The inner struggles they faced were enough to bring anyone to their knees but these 2 even when not telling the other everything they should pulled strength from one another like fuel on a fire.
I appreciated that we got more time with the other members of the Easton family, it was absolutely necessary to the story but it also felt like being able to spend time with loved ones as a final goodbye but I’m going to hope that this is more of a see you later than a final goodbye to this family that captured my heart nearly a year ago, I don’t think I will stop thinking of this family any time soon.
