How me having a book boyfriend has now become a threesome, one in the sheets and one in the pages.

In the summer of 2018, I was counting down the weeks to the release of a book. This was one of my favorite authors, so I repeatedly told my family they had to leave me alone on release day. The release day came, and I devoured those pages. Over the next few days, my husband kept making comments that sounded familiar, but I couldn’t figure out why. Then, on day 3, I realized he was saying stuff out of the book I had just finished. He saw how excited I was about the book, and he started it on his phone without telling me. He ended up reading that whole series, then he read another and another. He read my favorite contemporary romance, then my favorite paranormal, and now he’s reading my favorite mob series.

As he read through each series, I would post updates on his thoughts and comments on the book, the characters, and other randomness in the author’s group. His reactions to the contemporary romance and the paranormal were chill, but throughout this mobster series, there were times I thought his head would explode. He hates the main character that I love. He has questioned my sanity, the author’s sanity, and my sister-wife (who isn’t only a person that shared book boyfriends with me but I also know in real life). He said he would never look at us the same again, so we laugh and then I post about his horrified reactions.

We spent some time over the holidays discussing the possibility of starting a blog together, and here we are.

From a male perspective, his thoughts on anti-heroes or straight-up assholes will most likely differ from mine on those characters. This is just for fun, to make people smile or shake their heads at this ridiculousness, but it is in no way meant to be disrespectful or hurtful to any of the authors of the books he reads and comments on.

*When he started saying negative things about the characters in the mob series, I messaged the author because I didn’t want to post negative things about her characters in her group. I absolutely adore her and would never want to be disrespectful to her in any way. She messaged me and gave me the ok to keep sharing because, as she said, it was nice to have a male point of view on a group of characters that were not a cookie-cutter romance. *

I will be talking about books more often than #ReadingHusband because I read at least one book a day, and that is not a possibility for him. I will be sharing my favorites and other book related things. I hope you all find the humor in this and it brings a smile to your face because that will mean the world to me.
