It all began in Rome…
I was supposed to show Cole the city, as a favor to a friend. I was aware of his reputation, a seductive charmer hellbent on bachelorhood, but I hadn’t prepared for him to get past my defenses. Cole was nothing like the serious businessman I imagined. He was sinfully hot, funny and way too flirty for my broken heart. But, it was just vacation after all. I thought I’d never see him again.
Only I do.
Cole calls me the very day I return to New York. My residency has been my sole focus for the past few years—my passion and my refuge.
I’ve loved and lost and I don’t know how to open up again. But Cole is melting my fears with every kiss and touch, willing to move mountains to make me happy and help me heal.
And what scares me the most? I might just let him.

I have adored each and every one of the books in The Very Irresistible Bachelors Series but One Beautiful Promise is now my favorite there was just something extra special about Cole and Laney. The instant they meet there’s chemistry between them but they also very quickly begin a fun, teasing, playful banter that was endearing. Cole and Laney made promises that were impossible to keep because all it took were the moments in Rome for them to instill a part of themselves in each other. Cole’s proclaim of bachelorhood was left behind very quickly after meeting Laney he knew that she was special and made sure to show her implicitly with his words and in his actions, which were incredibly sweet. Laney was a bit broken and although it took a little patience and a great deal of trust she was able to let her guard down. Laney was extremely caring which is a good trait for a doctor but it was so much more than that she did it in a way that it was second nature for her to read someone’s needs in their actions or words that hadn’t been spoken but as soon as she felt someone needed something she was stepping in and offering a hand to help in any way that she could. I think the genuine way Laney and Cole were both so caring down to their very core made them even more perfect for one another. This book was jam packed with chemistry and swoon in addition to the perfect mix of feels, witty banter, steam and an entire family that love each other to the very depths of their soul. |
