Puck Shy had me under a spell in the first chapter. All of the weight of reality melted away and I became fully immersed in this brand new hockey world.
Harper was shy and witty, and she had a knack of inadvertently sharing her inner thoughts out loud. She stole my heart along with Collin’s; it was impossible not to adore this eccentric heroine. She was shy, but her wit and sarcasm were spot on; I genuinely don’t know how many laughs and giggles she got out of me.
Collin, er mah gawd, this hockey player was the perfect blend of cocky, clever, and he isn’t just a professional on the ice because this man deserves a trophy for his ovary bursting level of swoon because while cockiness is hot, being a sports celebrity was only a fraction of who he is and it wasn’t even in the top 5 of my favorite things about him.
Collin and Harper don’t have a meet cute so much as they have a “meet freeze” because their eyes lock, deer in headlights type, and once their heart rates begin to slow, it becomes an entirely different type of racing heart. Palpable chemistry, infused with sharp wit and an effortless rapport, equals a laugh-out-loud slow burn that will leave you with a smile on your face for hours after you finish reading.
Harper’s best friend, Ryan, and several members of Collin’s team, the Carolina Comets, have sparked my curiosity, and I can’t wait to spend more time inside this world.
I truly can’t express how fascinated I am with Hunter’s ability to create a world that immediately captivates you; her words allow you to become immersed in a world in which you know, even before reading the first word, that when you reach the end, your heart will be lighter than it was when you began.

A magical blend of heady chemistry, an endearingly shy heroine, a delectably SWOON worthy hero, a tension-filled slow-burn, rapt with scintillating banter, teeming with giggles and laugh out loud moments, and a splash of feels equals a top laugh out loud feel good romance and a top read of 2021.
