This was a smashing debut novel.
The writing was superb and pulled me into the Hellfire Club world immediately. The moment Keaton and Iris had a burning chemistry the moment they met. Iris was a mix of good girl that wanted her family’s approval with a feisty artist’s soul hiding deep inside of her waiting for the chance to escape. Keaton was the king of Pembroke Academy, he ruled the school in academics and the rugby field. He was also a bossy, alpha, a**hole, and below all that was the parts that no one had ever taken the time to see, until Iris.
The banter between Keaton and Iris was like watching them throw fireballs back and forth, it was all sass and purposeful instigating each other into anger. They grew up in seemingly different worlds but it was as though their souls recognized something in each other in that they understood the deepest parts of one another.
Wicked Idol was an exceptional debut. The story was engrossing, Keaton and Iris had brilliant chemistry, the banter between them wavered from entertaining to intense steam with ease, parts that tug at your heartstrings and a group of secondary characters that have already stolen my heart.
