You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows by Piper Rayne ~ Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

You Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows is not only an exemplary introduction to the Kingsmen Football Stars series, but more proof that this duo are masters of their craft. One word, and I was hooked. By chapter 2, I was completely consumed. By the end, I knew these football stars were going to give those hockey hotties a run for their sports romance money.

I love knowing when I open a book by this duo that I can count on a lighthearted escape, and even more than that, whether it’s book 1 or book 9, as soon as you read the first word you feel as though you’re spending time with loved ones.

Shayna was starting her dream job. The problem was that the man who broke her heart was on the team she just started working for. The moment they were near one another, there was a palpable tension between them, and that was before they ever glanced at one another. Shayna was sassy, but her caring nature made it clear she was perfect for the field of work she was in. She had no problem standing, keeping the quarterback who broke her heart at a distance. It’s just that he’s a QB1 with endless stamina, soooo… What’s a girl to do? She made a valiant effort to keep her distance.

Lee was much more than the cocky quarterback. At the very start, it was clear that hurting Shayna was his biggest regret. If their chemistry was even a fraction of what it is now, it would seem neither of them were prepared back then for the soul-encompassing connection they share. Lee was all growly and possessive before they even really shared a word, so obviously I loved him in the first chapter. What can I say? I’m easy when it comes to this duo’s swoony alpha heroes.

The Kingsmen football team had some already formed friendships, and as much as I loved their banter, I also loved that, when it came down to it, we were getting a front row seat as these guys began. Not just friendships, but they were starting their very own family. Shayna was becoming a part of the Kingsmen family, but also finding her friendships.

It wasn’t all palpable chemistry, tension-filled glances, and spice. There were moments that my heart ached for Shayna and Lee. Their shared past wasn’t an easy one, but there were also other elements that brought feels to the corner of my eye and down my cheek.

I was excited about this series before I ever read a word, but now, you might as well label me a Kingsmen Football Stars jersey chaser. I want them all… on my kindle.

You Had Your Chance, and you, Lee Burrows, were the ultimate introduction to this brand new series. An all-consuming blend of soul-encompassing chemistry, a swoony hero, a sassy heroine, and a story teeming with chemistry, witty banter, laughs, and steam Set inside a brand new world that feels like home with characters that feel like family, I can’t wait for more.
