Flirt ticks off all my Locke-loving boxes. Swoony, witty, sassy, dustings of feels, and above all, the unconditional love of a new fictional family with whom I’m already obsessed.
Brooke was all sweetness and wit, which allowed her to stand out among the Carmichael sons. Her family was wretched with a side of vile. except for her grandmother, whom Brooke clearly resembled. Brooke had worked with the Carmichaels for years, and she was so at ease with them that she could fling sassy retorts at the guys one moment and talk business with the parents the next. It was truly endearing how they accepted her for who she was before she ever started dating Moss.
Moss was a flirt with a guarded heart wrapped in a swoony AF bow and tinged with possessive alpha. He’s about to steal Locke’s most loved book boyfriend, and then he and his brothers will have a fictional war to out book boyfriend each other. Crazy? Possibly. Is it still my intention to cross my fingers and hope that this becomes a reality? I certainly am. Who doesn’t want to see Locke’s heroes try to out-swoon each other?

Brooke and Moss had a molten chemistry that seemed to intensify even as they tried to ignore it. The chemistry between them exploded into soul-consuming magnitude as soon as the possibility of a “them” entered their minds. Although the physical barrier they kept between them had been crossed, it was the emotional barriers that added a dash of heartbreak to the mix.
The pain was palpable as they tried to find peace with the past and look forward to the future.
I can’t say enough good things about the Carmichael family. Locke creates magic by putting pen to paper. The families she creates, whether you know them or have only “met” them, make you feel like you’re a part of the family. Whether it’s sarcastic sibling banter or the unconditional love of parents, it all becomes ingrained in your soul. As someone who lost both of my parents far too young, and especially as someone who grew up in a large family that no longer exists, Locke gives me the feelings I crave in the form of unconditional love within a fictional family.
Flirt is an exhilarating blend of explosive chemistry, a sassy heroine, a swoony hero, witty banter, laugh-out-loud sibling shenanigans, feels, and steam, all set in a world teeming with unconditional love.
WANTED: A SITUATION-SHIP
I’m a single female that’s tired of relationships ruining my life. However, there are times when a date would be helpful. If you’re a single man, preferably mid-twenties to late-thirties, and are in a similar situation, we might be a match.
Candidate must be handsome, charming, and willing to pretend to have feelings for me (on a sliding scale, as the event requires). Ability to discuss a wide variety of topics is a plus. Must have your own transportation and a (legal) job.
This will be a symbiotic agreement. In exchange for your time, I will give you mine. Need someone to flirt with you at a football party? Go, team! Want a woman to make you look good in front of your boss? Let me find my heels. Would you love for someone to be obsessed with you in front of your ex? I’m applying my red lipstick now.
If interested, please email me. Time is of the essence.
